For those who dabble into lo-fi and garage when no listening to 75:24 this is for you! Its just one guy but he plays with a band, from the UK but he's getting alot of attention from all over. He sounds like a 50's teeny bopper jukebox heartthrob but in a swirling world of reverb.

The Butternut Quartet

Forming in an “Introduction to Strings” class at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Chris Dye and Aaron Mew welcomed Anthony Stubelek into their group thus creating and all cello group named the Butternut Trio. Friend, Michael “Mickey” Dwyer transfered from an afternoon class and turned the Trio into a Quartet.
After ending the class, they decided to pick up conventional rock instruments. Their first performance was for the SCAD talent show, in which they did not advance into the finals.

A mix of instrumental fiddlyness and 90s emo from around 2001. I wish they did more songs with lyrics, Pierside/Track 6 is why they should.

Grown Ups: New Song

I got this from My Dinosaur Life, has a preview aswell! This is the first single, 'Are You Kitten Me', from the new album... featuring Justin Pierre from Motion City Soundtrack. Grown Ups have been VERY slow in making new stuff, maybe they played new stuff on tours but they have taken a while to record somthing. I just hope Justin Pierre having anything to do with Grown Ups is a one time thing.

Im not sure what this song is anymore, Justin Pierre proberly wrote it and sings it but I guess you cant say no to people like that if they want to record a song with you. Anyway Grown Ups are recording the rest of the album end of the month.

Re-ripped the song, the half second cut off at the end got annoying.

This Town Needs Guns: New Song

Sorry its only a video, got to see this played live a few weeks ago, looking back I kinda think 'Animals' was disappointment for me. Not really song wise, the songs are amazing but the singer stopped playing guitar and the 2nd guitar stopped tapping, but looking at this video they have both started to again. It's at alot faster pace then they have ever done before, they have just finished tour so they might get recording.

Quiltary, Consecos, Wood Goold, Passengers and Their Baggage

Just recently I was contacted by Biff Swenson if I would be interested in some mp3s, would I?!?! He's an awesome dude/bro/guy and, I guess you hear this alot but its compleltly true, he just wants people to hear the music he creates because he likes music and is hella committed. Biff has been in a few bands Passengers and Their Baggage and he has Quiltary (Cape Terra), Consecos and Wood Goold going on at the moment. Plus hes planning to start another band, after a break which he deserves.

Heres what he gave me to give to you guys, definatly check these out! In the interest of time for some I posted bulk zips of the files and then Biffs original links if you want uncompressed individual files.

Quiltary (Cape Terra)
I posted these about a month ago, you might of wonderd onto their myspace one or twice. They have gone few some lineup changes.

"It actually didn't start as an acoustic project. it was actually an completely different band. Cape Terra was a four piece rock band (sounding like Third Eye Blind meets Taking Back Sunday) that I drummed for. That band was together for about a year, toured and all. We lost a member, then gained two. By that time though we sounded a bit different. I moved from drums to guitar. It started sounding a bit more American Football-ish. Then our drummer and singer quit. I moved back to drums and our lead guitarist started singing. We recorded Boys with Bottle Rockets with that line-up. Then our bassist left the band. Russell (our singer) moved to bass, and our friend Matt picked up guitar. By that point it was time to change the name of the band because there were so many changes, it just wasn't the same band."

Wood Goold
"Matt Goold (our current guitarist) and I are both in Wood Goold (with original Cape Terra bassist Nick Gianatiempo)" Im not sure how to describe this, it still has the noodly jammy bits but its a bit more laid back and maybe abit folky, im not sure if that does it justice. I just noticed theirs 2 more eps for download on the myspace, ill post them.

Passengers and their Baggage

"we were also in a 5 piece indie band 2 years ago called Passengers and Their Baggage. We sounded like mewithoutYou meets Anathallo" I didnt know what to expect seeing as ive been listening to the same music genre for nearly 6 months now and mwY or Anthallo I have never listened to :|, I really dig it though the guitar work is dreamy and sounds like good chilling music in the dark winter nights :3

"A crappy imitation of an screamo band that broke up.", is kinda true but its not somthing to get too hung up on about. They took down thier Old Grey cover before I could get it :( By the looks of it they have some sort of EP in the works so that should be good. If you like any of those bands you should like this. Its screamo with clean twidly guitar parts, i'd say it sounds like Merchant Ships more then the bands listed above.
